Entry: The Watchers
The last report detailed how this species engages in physical activity, however, there is one element of this physical activity that needs further elaboration. As mentioned previous, when involved in opposing physical activity this species will divide themselves into two groups before engaging with a spherical object. In addition to the two opposing groups, there is also a third group of individuals involved in this form of physical activity. This third group will be labeled “The Watchers.”
The Watchers confine themselves to the outlying boundaries of the space in which the physical activity is taking place. They do not engage with the opposing groups, but instead, stay sedentary and swivel their round mound and their moist balls to follow the activity. The watchers will then react in different ways when specific events (such as the spherical object touching the white mesh) occur between the opposing groups.
Many watchers will slam their miniature limbs together repeatedly so that they emit a sharp, ringing sound, while others both slam their miniature limbs together and let out loud wails (both high pitched and low pitched) from the large cavity on their round mound. Additional behavior includes throwing their top elongated limbs up above their round mound, bouncing up and down on the base of their bottom elongated limbs, throwing their top elongated limbs around the main mound of flesh from someone near to them, and tossing physical objects up in the air- liquid, food, and items that may be adorning the bodies of these species.
The described reactions above are indicative of about half the watchers at any given opposing physical activity event. For every watcher who might slam their miniature limbs together, there are also watchers who will remain still, slump their main mound of flesh, hang their round mound down toward their bottom elongated limbs, direct their moist balls to the floor, or cover their round mound with their miniature limbs. Some also swivel their round mound slowly from side to side, emit low sounds from their main cavity, or drip liquid from their moist balls.
Lastly, it should be mentioned that the visual appearance of all watchers seems to be given great attention. All watchers, regardless of their reaction to opposing physical activity, attend these events adorned in specific matching colors. Others still will smear streaks of color or specifics characters on their round mound, or even on their main mound of flesh. Others will bring specific items that they shake and wave back and forth in their miniature limbs.
There appears to be different levels of opposing physical activity- ranging from small spaces to large spaces that draw small to mass amounts of watchers. It should also be mentioned that opposing physical activity is something this species seems to engage in throughout all their stages of growth. It is unclear at this time what distinguishes those who engage in the opposing physical activity from those who watch the activity.
Note: In accordance with code OBEWH2016 the final report will be submitted on January 1, 2018 to the higher council of extra-planetary research. Objective observations are sent every 7 full rotations of the planet in respect to its star and followed by a short summary of findings as directed in the standardized outline for observational reports presented in Handbook 32.7767.96.7970.
